B055: The update routine for the lower half of a two-part creature (graphic 11)
Object templates 17, 18 and 19 are two pieces at one place: a creature (graphic 94, 86 or 87) and under it graphic 11, its lower half, in the next record. The lower half does nothing of its own: it is put straight under the record before it -- the same U and V, 12 lower -- after that record's update has moved it, and is redrawn whenever the upper half has any step.
The footstep it asks for never sounds: LOWER_HALF_STEP plays only on an even graphic, and 11 is odd. The simulator sessions never ran that part of LOWER_HALF_STEP (see the coverage report).
Input
IX the lower half's record; the upper half's is 32 bytes below it
LOWER_HALF B055 CALL DRAW_AT_L12_D6 the drawing nudge
B058 CALL PUT_UNDER_UPPER under the upper half
B05B LD A,(IX-$17) the upper half has no step in U, V or Z this turn: nothing to draw
B05E OR (IX-$16)
B061 OR (IX-$15)
B064 RET Z
B065 CALL LOWER_HALF_STEP a footstep (never, see above), and redraw it
