C44D: The sun or moon, as an object record
Thirty-two bytes laid out like a record in the object table, so that the ordinary sprite printer (print_sprite) can draw the sun or moon. The fields that matter: +$00 the type, 88 for the sun or 89 for the moon, and +$1A and +$1B the pixel position. Set up by init_sun, moved by print_sun_moon, swapped by toggle_day_night. Other code reads +$00 to know whether it is day or night: colour_sun_moon for the window's colour, and lose_life to bring the player back as a knight or a werewolf.
