Eighteen records of sixteen bytes, the first sixteen bytes of an object record (OBJECTS): 0-3 the quest items, 4-8 the collectables, 9-16 the pieces of the pentagram, 17 the bucket, empty until the well gives one (labelled QUEST_START_BUCKET). NEW_QUEST copies them to QUEST_RECORDS at every new game and gives the collectables their places, so the rooms and positions of records 4 to 8 here are never used.
QUEST_INTO_ROOM loads QUEST_START_BUCKET's address and adds 16 before it looks at a record, so the address it wants is only "16 bytes before QUEST_RECORDS"; it reads nothing here.
