Reached through UPDATES. A doorway is two pillars, graphics 2 and 3, from one background (BACKGROUND_TABLE: backgrounds 0 to 3, 10 and 11), and this one only sets its drawing nudge: the first pillar (FIRST_PILLAR) does the work. A doorway in a wall of constant V is mirrored (bit 6 of its flags); one in a wall of constant U is not. As Knight Lore's upd_3_5 and Pentagram's SECOND_PILLAR.
